Jim Mings has played the guitar for 46 years. Although he is most noted as a jazz artist, Mings also performs the background music for the classic ETV series Naturescene. He has played with many great performing artists from Bob Hope to John Lee Hooker, and with many of the celebrated jazz musicians as well. Mings completed a Master's degree in music from The University of South Carolina, and also enjoys playing popular styles such as blues, country, rock. A native of Austin, Texas, Mings has recently been included in the book The History of the Austin Music Scene.
